All  divers and especially wreck divers and anyone interested in the history of the First World War should make a point of watching “Jutland”. First broadcast on Saturday night, if you missed it make sure you catch it on Channel 4’s catch-up service on-line.

Made by the same production company, Mallinson Sadler Productions (MSP) that brought us (and I was involved in) “Deep Wreck Mysteries”.

It is a documentary telling the true story of the Battle of Jutland. Contains fascinating archive footage and interviews with many renowned authorities including wreck diver & nautical archeologist Innes McCartney.

Not the easiest wrecks to dive, being 90 miles from the nearest port. Regular expeditions do go out to the Jutland wrecks, but now tend to originate from mainland Europe. The early pioneering diving was carried out from Richard Stevenson’s Loyal Watcher in the early 2000’s. This documentary does not dumb down its content, and I think should be commended for that, do try to see it if you can.
